UH Center for Emergency Medicine and Marcy R. Horvitz Pediatric Emergency Center

Accessibility to emergency medical services at UH Case Medical Center will be greatly enhanced when the new UH Center for Emergency Medicine (CEM) opens its doors in summer 2011. With the second busiest emergency room and the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in Northern Ohio, UH serves an invaluable need in the community, providing emergency care to approximately 73,000 patients annually. The new facility will more than double its current footprint, maximizing patient comfort, privacy and safety. A critical component of the CEM is the Marcy R. Horvitz Pediatric Emergency Center. Recognizing the generosity of three generations of the Horvitz family, this separate pediatric treatment and waiting area honors the memory of Marcy R. Horvitz and her sense of responsibility to children. The new CEM and Marcy R. Horvitz Pediatric Emergency Center will be conveniently accessible from Euclid Avenue and feature state-of-the-art diagnostic and laboratory capabilities that will enhance and more efficiently expedite patient care.
