Ohio College of Podiatric MedicineThe Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) is a private, non-profit, four-year graduate level medical college, granting the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. One of nine accredited podiatry schools in the United States, the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine’s mission is to educate students to be highly competent doctors of podiatric medicine who excel in residency training. Founded in 1916, OCPM has graduated over 6,000 podiatrists who have made outstanding contributions to the field and study of podiatric medicine. OCPM is an independent college of podiatric medicine with all the advantages of an academic health science center. In addition, OCPM has regional and national affiliations with over 50 world-wide hospitals including the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals and more than 300 private practitioners nationwide that provide clerkship training to OCPM students. Currently, OCPM maintains an average school enrollment of 425 students a year. Students come from a wide range of geographic locations throughout the world, with majority coming from the continental United States. In a given year, OCPM graduates 75-100 podiatrists a year. Students who enroll at OCPM find that the college continues to be the leader in providing quality education, research, and patient care. With the transition to the new medical education facility in Independence, Ohio, OCPM is positioning itself to become the leader in podiatric medical education for the 21st century. Cy Pres Award DonationThe Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) is very thankful for this generous donation from Dworken and Bernstein to the college. This donation will be used for OCPM’s Clinical Indigent Care Service. OCPM’s Cleveland Foot & Ankle Clinics, which serve as the clinical teaching facilities for our students, annually care for many patients with no ability or means of payment. Although this is very beneficial to the community and rewarding to the college, OCPM covers the additional cost of providing this service. Funds from this program will enable the college to continue providing care for patients of northeast Ohio who truly rely on this service. OCPM believes in educating our students to treat all people with the same compassion and care, so they can use those standards and morals learned by “paying it forward” once they have become Doctors of Podiatric Medicine.website: http://www.ocpm.edu |
