Coats for Kids

Coats for Kids - Cleveland was born in 1981 when a local radio station learned that a large number of children were missing school because they didn't have a warm coat. Five hundred families were helped that year when WTAM then known as 3WE began soliciting donations of "like new or gently worn" coats or cash to purchase new coats.

Since 1981, the consecutive campaigns have raised more than 3.0 million dollars and have given over 400,000 coats to area youngsters.

This year through the efforts of attorneys at Dworken & Bernstein, who went the extra mile, we received the single largest donation in the history of our charity. This gift will make a significant difference in the number of children we will be able to assist this year. As we navigate through an overwhelming and uncertain economy the need for help has become heightened.

It is through the support of the public, generous organizations and people like you that Coats For Kids has been able to give coats to more than 400,000 children in Northeast, Ohio! This is proof that there are still many people who care about their communities.

The money collected will be spent to buy coats in sizes not donated. This year due to the generous donation from your firm we were able to buy more coats and hat and gloves to go along with the coats.
