2-1-1 Geauga County Community Services... a service of United Way
The Geauga Hunger Task Force and Emergency Financial Assistance programs were created to assist families that did not qualify for TANF (formerly AFDC) and Food Stamp programs. A service of United Way of Geauga County since 2003, 2-1-1 provides critical assistance to families and individuals that do not qualify for public assistance.
A cooperative effort involving Geauga County Jobs and Family Services, local churches and area charities in addition to United Way allows 2-1-1 to manage the most comprehensive information database of health and human service programs in the county including Basic Human Needs Resources, Physical and Mental Health Resources, Employment Support, Support for Older Americans and Persons with Disabilities, Support for Children, Youth and Families as well as Volunteer opportunities and donations.

The funds received will be used to improve the lives of those living in Geauga County. We have three goals. (1) We will ensure that 2-1-1- will be able to continue to meet the emergency and crisis needs of local families. (2) Funds will be invested into the Geauga County Financial Stability Partnership, which will promote self-sufficiency for local individuals and families. This plan includes financial literacy training for children and adults, access to free tax preparation, savings campaigns, focusing on workforce developments efforts and much more and finally (3) we will seek to protect 2-1-1- in Geauga County for those in need by creating an endowment fund. The endowment fund will provide revenue to support 2-1-1- indefinitely.
